PRESENTATION
I&P Capital Indian Ocean is an investment fund created in 2003 and based in Port Louis, Mauritius. It has an investment capacity of 10 million Euros.
OBJECTIVE
I&P Capital Indian Ocean aims to make about 10 capital investments in SMEs in the Mauritius/Madagascar/Comoro Islands region. These investments may take the form either of minority or majority shareholdings.
SPONSORS AND INVESTORS
The four sponsors, who have provided 40% of the investment fund, are:

- I&P, represented by Patrice Hoppenot
- Mauritian industrial group CIEL, via its investment subsidiary Ciel Investment, chaired by Jean Pierre Dalais
- UNIMA, Madagascar's largest private company, represented by Amyne Ismail
- Antoine DELAPORTE, 42, Managing Director of the fund's management company. Mr. Delaporte, a Madagascar businessman, was formerly a consultant with Bain & Co.
Three institutional investors complete the shareholding structure:
- The European Investment Bank
- Proparco (a unit of the French Development Agency group)
- Mauritius Sugar Industry Pension Fund
INVESTMENT
I&P Capital Indian Ocean has made six industrial investments as of today.
The first one was sold in 2006. The five other investments are:
- Expand, Mauritius
- CBE Ngajidja, Comoro Islands
- Orange Madagascar
- Grand Hôtel du Louvre, Madagascar
- Colonial Beach Hotel, Mauritius
